Featuring Anne Dean
Co-Founder, Harmony Life International
Anne Dean was no stranger to Uganda when she co-founded Harmony Life International. Her family had a long history in Uganda dating back prior to the regime of Idi Amin. Though based in Colorado, after their many trips to Uganda, she and her husband Jeff consider Uganda their second home. Over the years, they witnessed many challenges in this beautiful country. Through their family history and experiences in Uganda, they felt called to establish Harmony Life International to address many of these challenges.
Harmony Life Foundation was started in 2012. In 2015, Anne and Jeff expanded Harmony Foundation by adding the Public Charity, Harmony Life International, in order to create greater opportunities for people to give and serve. Their work is focused around the areas of Fort Portal and Kampala, Uganda, East Africa. They also do outreach and fundraising events in the US.
Anne brings her many years of nonprofit, management, and financial experience to her work at Harmony Life International. But the center of her work is in her faith. Her desire was to establish an organization to be a light in the darkness by bringing hope, healing and transformation to hurting people. Her calling through Harmony Life International was to love everyone, especially the oppressed, and to share God’s message of hope in whatever way He leads.
Harmony Life International works directly with Harmony Life Uganda, (a registered NGO in the country of Uganda). Anne manages general operations in the US, while her colleagues Kenneth Bagonza manages general operations on the ground, Matt Rogers oversees international medical missions, and Walter Wa runs their music ministry outreach and SIFU mentorship program in Kampala. In partnership with Jeff, Anne and her team make significant strides in helping Uganda.
Anne and Harmony Life International work alongside those in need, equipping and empowering them with educational and entrepreneurial opportunities. They strive to make basic medical care, secure shelter and clean water accessible to as many people as possible.
Through the dedicated efforts of Anne and her team, Harmony Life International has made progress on the challenges in Uganda. By answering the call to advocacy, Anne with her husband and team demonstrate the impact that individuals can have for justice across the globe.
