Georgia Evans is inspired and determined.  As the Founder of Village Care Project, she is focused on bringing community size water filters to villages throughout Africa who desperately need clean drinking water.

Georgia, who owns a copying company and is a photographer, was first inspired to her work on water issues when on a wildlife photo safari in Africa.  In preparation for that trip, she researched the conditions of the villages and was struck by the lack of clean drinking water in those communities.  The villagers, mostly women, were hauling water from basically any stream bed or pond they could find in their arid regions.  But that unclean water was the source of disease and other concerns in the villages.

Georgia had a simple solution -- community size water filters.  She bought two of them for her first trip and shipped them to Africa.  Then she hired guides and personally delivered them to a Masai village in Africa. She demonstrated to the villagers how to use the filters for clean drinking water.  She also added mosquito bed nets to address the issue of malaria in these villages.

Georgia’s concern for the people of Africa and her idea to bring community size water filters to the villages initiated her “Into Africa” series of trips.  She brought community sized water filters first to the Masai villages and then to others in Kenya, Tanzania, and other areas of Africa.

Since beginning her Africa based work, Georgia has been back to four more villages and formerly established the Village Care Project, a non profit organization, to continue this work.  She is planning another trip to Africa in January 2020 to bring more water filters to more  communities.

In addition, as a photographer, Georgia has taken numerous, remarkable wildlife and landscape photos in Africa that she sells in support of the Village Care Project. Many of her photos are featured in the GLBL MRKT, a collaboration between G.L.O.B.A.L. Justice and Grace Place Church and located in Berthoud, CO.

Georgia is a tremendous example of how inspiration, research, and response to real and immediate needs can make a positive impact --  in Africa and around the world.

Anne Dean was no stranger to Uganda when she co-founded Harmony Life International. Her family had a long history in Uganda dating back prior to the regime of Idi Amin. Though based in Colorado, after their many trips to Uganda, she and her husband Jeff consider Uganda their second home.  Over the years, they witnessed many challenges in this beautiful country. Through their family history and experiences in Uganda, they felt called to establish Harmony Life International to address many of these challenges.

Harmony Life Foundation was started in 2012. In 2015, Anne and Jeff expanded Harmony Foundation by adding the Public Charity, Harmony Life International, in order to create greater opportunities for people to give and serve. Their work is focused around the areas of Fort Portal and Kampala, Uganda, East Africa.  They also do outreach and fundraising events in the US.

Anne brings her many years of nonprofit, management, and financial experience to her work at Harmony Life International.  But the center of her work is in her faith. Her desire was to establish an organization to be a light in the darkness by bringing hope, healing and transformation to hurting people. Her calling through Harmony Life International was to love everyone, especially the oppressed, and to share God’s message of hope in whatever way He leads.

Harmony Life International works directly with Harmony Life Uganda, (a registered NGO in the country of Uganda).  Anne manages general operations in the US, while her colleagues  Kenneth Bagonza manages general operations on the ground, Matt Rogers oversees international medical missions, and Walter Wa runs their music ministry outreach and SIFU mentorship program in Kampala. In partnership with Jeff, Anne and her team make significant strides in helping Uganda.

Anne and Harmony Life International work alongside those in need, equipping and empowering them with educational and entrepreneurial opportunities. They strive to make basic medical care, secure shelter and clean water accessible to as many people as possible.

Through the dedicated efforts of Anne and her team, Harmony Life International has made progress on the challenges in Uganda. By answering the call to advocacy, Anne with her husband and team demonstrate the impact that individuals can have for justice across the globe.
