Fall Into Film

Micah Place Grand Opening

We had a wonderful day at the Micah Place Grand Opening. Thanks to the many neighbors and friends who joined us. Special thanks to Alan Skowron for his beautiful guitar music, Brent Bromstrup for the great Top of the Lake Coffee, Amelia Marie Furman for guiding the Garden tile painting, Melissa Morris Venable for sharing her lovely craft, and David Priest & Brenda Rundback of Shadow Play films for capturing special moment. Loveland Corn Roast Festival

Thanks to the Loveland Chamber of Commerce for their work in putting together such a fun Corn Roast Festival -- in its 126th year! G.L.O B.A.L. rocked the 80's for the parade and also shared lemonade and the GLBL MRKT at Micah Place. Special thanks our CO Team for all of their support for the community.

 

Cultural Tea - Mediterranean

Guitar in the Garden - Suicide Prevention

August 11, 2022

The Guitar in the Garden summer series at Micah Place was wonderful! We loved featuring talented guitarists Alan Skowron in May, Charlie Stevens in June, Paul Ritchie in July, and Dave Beegle for our August finale. Dave did an amazing job performing a range of music tonight in the Garden. We also appreciated the many community members who joined us to enjoy this music, learn more about G.L.O.B.A.L. Justice, and help raise support for important causes including Ukrainians of Colorado, Robb School in Uvalde, TX, House of Neighborly Service, and Larimer County Alliance for Suicide Prevention. We look forward to showcasing Guitar in the Garden again next summer at Micah Place and sharing many other great events this Fall!

 

Coffee in the Conservatory - July

Our Coffee in the Conservatory featured coffee sampling and a presentation from Brent Bromstrup of Top of the Lake Coffee on sustainable and ethical coffee practices. Attendees sampled excellent coffee while learning about how coffee production and farming is tied to economic justice for communities that work hard to produce this sought after beverage.

Launch of Cultural Library and Cultural Tea - Asia

Our new Cultural Library at Micah Place was launched this May with a selection of books authored by Asian American/Pacific Islanders and/or featuring regional themes. Thanks to Barbara Lambert for sharing these cultural resources for the community. We will be featuring different cultures each month. We also celebrated this launch with our first Cultural Tea highlighting Asian American Pacific Islander culture.

Loveland’s Downtown Business Alliance

G.L.O.B A.L. was pleased to host Loveland's Downtown Business Alliance at Micah Place for their meeting this month. We shared at this preview event about our vision and work at G.L.O. B.A.L. Justice/Micah Place, and heard from law enforcement about homelessness in the community. Thanks to all the business leaders who attended. Thanks also to Fresh Plate catering and Top of the Lake Coffee for breakfast. Special thanks to Sean Hawkins & Abby Powell of DBA for coordinating this meeting.

Our 5th Annual Women Empowering Women: Justice & Leadership Forum was a special day filled with information and inspiration, including a COVID-19 research presentation, Emerging Leaders luncheon, Professional Panel, musical performances, and the GLBL MRKT. We are so grateful to all of our presenters, panelists, performers, sponsors, staff, videographers, and guests for making it an impactful and memorable day in celebration of Women's History month and International Women's Day.
