A COFFEE BUSINESS WITH MINISTRY PURPOSE

Featuring: Aaron and Jessica Harsch, Co-Founders, Redemption Road Coffee

Aaron and Jessica Harsch love coffee and ministry.  Through Redemption Road Coffee, they have had the opportunity to combine these loves to make an impact in their community and the world.

Aaron Harsch began roasting his own coffee in a whirleypop crank-handle popcorn maker in 2010. As he researched and experimented he began to perfect his roast creating a smooth, flavorful coffee. Friends would say “You make a great coffee!”, and he and his wife Jessica would give their coffee as Christmas gifts.

As Aaron continued to develop their home made coffee, he and Jessica began a non-profit organization called Redemption Road.  Redemption Road’s ministry was to organize groups and weekend intensives that help men learn how to live in freedom.

In the fall of 2015 a friend made a comment to Aaron: “You should sell this coffee to support Redemption Road”. That comment sparked Aaron to start considering what it would take to start a coffee roasting business. That Thanksgiving, he and Jessica decided they would make this a reality. They bought an industrial drum roaster, obtained the necessary licenses and opened for business. The result, Redemption Road Coffee, was a coffee business with a ministry purpose.

Aaron and Jessica both have degrees from Bethel College and training in fields others than business.  Aaron, a philosophy major, and Jessica, a nurse, have had to learn much to develop and grow their own business.  The road in the Redemption Road logo symbolizes their journey of growing and becoming more healthy individuals.

Not only does Redemption Road Coffee support their own family, but they give a portion of the profits to help support Redemption Road ministries and other great causes.  Aaron & Jessica also support international families and communities from whom they sourced their coffees.  On each bag of Redemption Road Coffee, they share the stories of the coffees and communities they support, and connect customers with the people who hand pick the coffee for each package.

Through Redemption Road Coffee, the Harschs hope to change the world and peoples’ lives for the better. G.L.O.B.A.L. Justice is pleased to feature Redemption Road Coffee in our GLBL MRKT. Visit www.globaljusticeonline.org/glbl-mrkt
