Mass incarceration, immigration, and education. These are just a few of the areas that Michelle Ferrigno Warren has dedicated her time and energy to addressing injustice in her community while equipping and inspiring others to do the same. She is a nationally recognized faith leader, advocate, author and speaker. Michelle has been working in Christian community development for three decades with the purpose of joining her neighbors in their efforts against systemic injustice. She uses each of the platforms she has been given to make a difference in the lives of others and to catalyze change.

Michelle currently serves as the President and CEO of Virago Strategies, a consulting firm that provides strategic engagement and project management support for those working to advocate on behalf of communities in need. She is a Senior Fellow with the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute and an adjunct faculty member at Denver Seminary.

In addition to these roles, she is a co-founder of Open Door Ministries, a community development organization in downtown Denver, that works to address poverty, addiction, and homelessness through social programs.

Further, she has served in a long term role as Christian Community Development’s Advocacy and Strategic Engagement Director. In this role, she has had the opportunity to speak to thousands of individuals and has been featured in local and national media. She is a nationally recognized leader, advocate, author and speaker on the issues of faith and justice.

Her roles and experiences have not only impacted her immediate community but have inspired others elsewhere to do justice. She is an author of the Power of Proximity and Join the Resistance: Step into the Good Work of Kingdom Justice. Both books equip Christians to join into Christ’s restorative work in the world and do more than only raise awareness about injustice.

In addition to her advocacy and professional work, Michelle ran for United States Senate in Colorado in 2020. Although her campaign did not lead to an office, she utilized her position as a candidate to raise the concerns of her community and those who are often underrepresented.

Michelle’s years of dedicated work addressing injustice and equipping others to do the same is an inspiration to those within and outside of the Christian faith community.
